Help identify this maxim elevating gearbox.

I picked this up thinking it was for a sled but later realized it was for a 1916 type mount. The mounting base however looks different than my 1916 or my Swiss mount. Is this for some type of fortress/oddball mount?

For me it's a elevating from WWII fortress mount.

It's on page 269-270 of myrvang's first book. "schartenlafette 08". Says that it's from a converted sledgemount.....Phil

I bought it from Folke at the creek. Figured it was just what was needed to rehab the tired gearbox on the sled recovered from the lawn ornament. Now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't crack it open for parts. I'm working on another deal at the moment with some German parts in it and if it goes through it might have some stuff of interest in it.
