You are having the complete cover made?
I have a Chinese fusee cover that is very very close and with the removal of the brass disk (two small rivets), it would make life much easier. Let me know if you are interested, its on my parts list for sale.
Hopefully you are not modifying an original German one. It would be much better to modify a Chinese one.
I have an original with markings. I can probably do a good rubbing of it. Or maybe we can work something out... I think mine may be 1916 but changing a number would not be very hard.

I actually had some down time at the office today, so this is a first pass. CAD has been converted to lo-res PNG for public consumption:

Randall,
That is AWESOME!!!
will it be a DWG file or similar? and as far as im concerned that is good enough!
how do you think you would go with the number scale as well for the spring adjustment???
man that is sweet.

I can send the CAD, just posted a PNG because most can't view CAD.
The question I have is whether or not it has to be to scale? I can do the scale numbers as well, need another day or so.
Shoot me your email.

Randall,
My guess is it needs to be to scale sorry, its getting plugged into a laser engraver.

Hmmm, I only have an 08/15 and the cover is slightly different. The file I sent was not to scale. I am assuming you will need the measure in metric - can someone give me length and height measurements in MM for the emblem?

As best I can get off my rusty cover is the height of the oval is 57mm, the length of the oval is 65mm. the height of the '1' in 1917 is 7mm

I measured a nice 1916 DWM cover and came up with 65.3mm at the widest point 57.8 high and the letters are 8.6mm as are the numbers. This is outside diameters
