i got a all matching 1935 k98 i got for $500 and i want to know what its worth the stock is striped but it is sanded and has a shotgun pad on it that is the only thing wrong with it.

I also call body shops and ask for an estimate of my wrecked car. It's from 1973 and has the wrong wheels.

No, they don't get to see any pictures, they're just supposed to know.

i don't know how to put pictures on my computer or even run the camera so all i can do is tell you

Getting pics done and getting them up on the website is easy --- just ask the 10 year kid next store.. LOL.. They always seem to know how to fix the computer. LOL..
If you get a camera, ask and we will try to help you get the pics up on the sire, etc.

On the rifle I think more info or pics is needed.

the rifles metal finish is perfect the bore is also perfect the action has no wear no import marks on the barrel its vet bring back and it shoots good

it has S/42G on the receiver other than the stock its perfect

I am not the most technologically gifted and I can relate w/ the camera issue, so let me take a stab.

Okay, nice early Mauser, the receiver ring should read S/42G, the stock is the issue...

Well if it were all intact, original and matching, on a given day between $800-$1800 at auction; why the crazy range, b/c some Mauser buyers at an auction run the boards b/c they "have to have it" most true, regular, un-tampered with vet-bring backs bring around $1K (papers are nice) b/c no import mark by itself just means your rifle emigrated to the USA before 1968.

Now yours has been altered,,,,whenever crimes against nature occur to a German military mauser, a great tragedy has occurred. Now at best, you can slap it into an RC stock and try to get $500-$700, but the cost of the stock plus what you paid will put you right back where you started.

Best case scenario, on Gunbroker, as it is, I will guess w/o pics, maybe $650-$750, then again you never really know, you may get lucky and get more, if the rear could somehow be spliced onto with a donor stock, that may help some, and if all the hardware matches and the sanding was not too severe it would be a good option. Furthermore it will still gain value as time goes on just at a slower pace.

I would say yours would be considerably more appealing than this, BUT when guys start shelling out $800+ they want matching un-sporterized, unless legit SS, sniper variations...I could go on,,,I hope this helps.

Next question
Are there any importers marks near the front of the barrel? IO or CIA or several other companies brought them in and as they did they were required to stamp them with their name. Or was it a bring back?

OK, there's the shotgun pad.... has the stock been cut down to put it on, or did they take the buttplate off to do it, or what? A buttplate isn't that hard to find alone, so long as the stock isn't chopped off.

Does the bolt numbering match the receiver?

He said it's a vet bring back, so that's a good thing.

Does it have the buttplate? An early style flat buttplate isn't impossible to find if it's gone.

i do not have the buttplate for this rifle but i have one for another k98 i got that i can fit on it

Wood looks way to nice for the wear that I see on the metal. That said it still has a nice look to it.

oh on the side of the lever has some scratches but thats it its a shame that someone had to take the but plate off the stock and sand it. but i like the old rifle
