Rebuilding a MG08/15 Rain Cover.

A few months back I picked up the machined part (bracket) of a MG08/15 rain cover still attached to a MG08/15 feedblock. The sheet metal part was long gone. I had hoped to one day rebuild it. The only person that I knew had one (to copy from) was Alpencorps over there in Germany. So he sent me a diagram with all the info needed to make the cover. However there is a rolled edge on the cover that I could not figure out how I was going to be able to do it. You know Germans, couldn't just fold the edge! So with not a lot of spare time, I moved on to other projects. A little while later Alpencorps said he could have one made. I of course was very interested! So he had one made to the original spec and shipped it to me! He did an awesome job and it look perfect and is really well made. So I got some rivets and here we go!
I don't know about you guys but some accessories I find very interesting and some I could care less about. BFA... I don't even want one. However I think this rain cover is awesome! I really wanted one for my collection.
So my bracket was a bit smaller than his, on the top. It still fit the sheet metal perfectly but my bracket was soldered on with rivets. So I used Silver Solder to give mine a little extra strength. Now I still have a lot to do but I have enough done to show. I still need to, rivet overlap at corners, make and solder on chain stud, add chain, file/clean up work and paint.
