Picked up another mg08

Paperwork has really sped up lately. I sent it off the 30th of december and it came back the 26th of Feb. Had a chance to go get it this weekend and arrived back home last night. Had a great visit with friends and brought home a gun I had drooled over for 7 years. Here is a quick cell phone pick I took last night. She still wears her original blue, although the waterjacket has been repainted.

Ha,ha. It does look real orange in that pic. here is another pic but i guess the floor is somewhat of a pumpkin.

Since we are on colors I would like opinions on the paint that is currently on the waterjacket of the 08. Previous owner said he thought it was repainted. I have posted some close up pics of areas where it is chipped off and you can see the blue underneath. There are no traces of another color anywhere and I have looked. So this means if it was repainted then it was chemically stripped which is entirely possible I guess. Did the germans paint the jackets at the factory? Would they have taken the time to mask off the front sight and lugs where sled mounts to gun? I think it has to be a repaint but I started to question it since I cant find any traces of there ever being any other paint. Were they all painted from dwm?
I think the asumption of repainting was because the paint looks to good to be that old, but on the same token the rest of the gun looks pretty darn good also so I have to ask, repainted or original?

That's a great looking 08!! Very nice! I vote for the waterjacket paint being original. The color looks good, so far as I can tell from the computer, and it appears to me that they were painted at the factory. They were usually repainted as they needed it, as far as I can tell, and the camo jobs would all have been applied in the field. That's one nice gun!
