Wow! Found picture of the russian 1910 maxim belt loader!

Ok, it's about halfway down this page, this is a series of pictures of the Tula museum, at the famous (and very very old) arsenal in Russia. There's a wonderful display case with two Russian 1910 maxims, the wooden device for seating the rounds in the belt I've previously seen, and.... a belt loader! It's in the process of loading belts, with the rounds then going to the wooden device, and into an ammo box. Pretty cool display!

Looks like the much more commonly seen Swiss belt loaders most of which were converted first from cloth belt loaders to metal belt loaders and then to MG51 belt loaders. I think the design was originally from VSM or one of the early maxim companies. I've seen other loaders of that design from other countries. I think the Belgians had a loader like that too......not sure who else.

Yeah, it looks like the pre-war standard ones to me, too-
