You know it occurs to me that this weekends trip to central OH is a complete waste (dispite right-patterson). Now if I can just figure out how to talk my wife into a tour of New England!
22 huh? Gosh Bob thats an odd number. I think you should give me two for a perfect 20! Haha... well since you don't mind telling us how many, do you mind telling what kind you do have? Here is another good question for you. Do you keep specific guns for specific reasons or do you tend to just keep all that you get?
My grand Maxim list includes:
MG08/15 sideplate (NFA registered) waiting to be cancelled and sold to a friend.
MG08/15 Dewat, waiting for ATF to finish paperwork.
I am also working on a deal for a MG08. Its been a long time in the works so don't hold your breath.
Parts kits:
MG08
MG08/15
LMG08/15 (Two)
Chinese T24
Russian 1910 (smooth jacket)
Russian 1910 (tractor cap)
Finnish 09/21
Vickers (MA 42)
I know thats fairly small but its only been about 4 years since I got my first Maxim parts kit. If the economy keeps going like this, I will loose my house and job but will probably be able to afford some more Maxims! Almost seems like a good deal!
Rare and Battle Damaged Maxim parts!
Re: Rare and Battle Damaged Maxim parts!
LOL! If the economy continues like this, I may be right there with you Matt, this is crazy! What happened to your sideplate?
Anyway, You've got some neat parts kits. I've got an 08 and two 08/15's, but I went crazy on buying spares while I could. You just can't have enough parts, right?
I'm glad I did though, I love shooting my guns, and I've had some odd stuff just... shatter from age on these wonderful old things.
Bob, I would love to take you up on that offer! 22!!!! I am shocked! I was actually struck mute with envy. Wow. And those beautiful brass Maxims too! And is that the Fusee cover for an Enfield maxim hanging next to them???
You know I have wanted an 07/12 for years, but with the slowdown in business, and the amazing prices people are asking, I'll be waiting and waiting for a while, Im afraid. I love those guns, they're neat pieces. How many of those do you have??? They're a fascinating design, and I would dearly love to have one in our spot at OFASTS putt putting away someday... probably in 7.62 x 54, but still there nonetheless.
I've always had a soft spot for the WWI guns too. The WWII guns just aren't as neat for me, I've never had a hankering to own a Bren, but a Lewis, I had to have.
Love your collection, more pictures please! (Might you be willing to trade anything?)
Doesn't hurt to ask!

Re: Rare and Battle Damaged Maxim parts!
Nothing. Its an Erb sideplate. Then I won a C&R Dewat cheap on GB. I don't know enough FA to have two (much less afford two), so the plate goes to a friend with a 95% parts kit at a good price. Now I can afford the dewat and it will be C&R and I get a shooting buddy! What else would I do with the plate anyway... use it on a LMG... that will only shoot a few times before over heating... na. Na sell it and get something else.dwmmg08 wrote:LOL! If the economy continues like this, I may be right there with you Matt, this is crazy! What happened to your sideplate?

I'm not going anywhere for a while so if yu ever come to New england, give me a shout.

You win a kewpee doll! The hanging fusee cover is for an enfield Maxim, and it showed up on E-Bay quite afew years ago form France. About $100 bought it and another $25 to ship!!
>You know I have wanted an 07/12 for years, ......How many of those do you have???<
I always have loved the 07/12s since I saw the white painted one in the early Small Arms of the World when I was kid. At the moment I have four (one of which could be yours! What do you have for trade?), a couple of which are 07/12 R16s. I built one in 7.92 using one of the IMA kits. One is in 54R, which will feed the SG/PK belts in 54R......now that's some MG trivia!
Can't get enough of MGs over here......
