Looks nice-for this you sold your FA 42?? I couldn't find the smilie for 'dumb-a$$" ! Knowing you,it was probably about $1500! You can change the oil without a lift or jacks. You will need that extra clearance for the snow. ---bil

Hello imblitzvt,

Beautifull P 08 :photos: , I also collect everything objects relative to the German machine gunners of the great war. I have quite a lot of uniforms and equipments which I go up in dummy.
It is interesting to study it, because it helps to understand the other things relative to machine guns.
Before being MGK (machine gun compagny), the Germans machine gunners were MGA (machine gun abteilung). When they were MGA since 1901 (MG 01) still 1915, there personal gun was at beginning the Kar 98a and after they were first to have a P 08. They have the pistol but no much holsters....so they change old reichrevolver holster into P 08 holster.
It's this one, from a GMGA 1 (Garde machine gun abteilung 1)

They also have a special machine gunner shako

Get the danged vehicles off this thread.....this is an MG thread not a show and tell for everything you own. C'mon lets keep the standards up and not let this degenerate into junk comments and pics and wiseass replies.....wastes my time when I see a new post and then its junk. I don't want or need to see anything but MGs and MG related information and pics or I'm out of here....

You're right Bob-sorry. Very nice collection,La Mitraille! We don't see much of the rarer items over here, but it seems we are seeing more, with all the interest here on the older guns. Thanks for the pics and info. ---bil

Yeah the vehicles sure came out of left field? I have a 97 Tahoe, green for anyone that really wants to know. :?

David, thats a very nice collection of Militaria. I have often wanted to pick up a saw back bayonet. If I saw one with the MG unit markings, I might just have to. Those pictures of you in the trenches with the MG08 were very interesting! Do you have more like that? Its very cool to see the way these trench systems were used! What does a MG08/15 bunker look like?

Is there such a thing as a German MG08/15 bunker? There are some images of 'between-the-wars' fixed Belgian and French bunkers/forts with captured/re-used 08/15 but I would be interested to see images of WWI German 'bunkers' with 08/15. There is no doubt maybe some of the German 'elastic' pillboxes used 08/15 but if David or anybody else has some evidence then fantastic.

Bob, Oh man check this out. I was looking at the feedblocks a little more. Look at the upper feedarm! The later one is shorter!
