MG08 drain filler help

Post by MrMilo »

I have two drain filler plugs for my 08 but both have a little active rust going on. What is the best way to clean these up without harming them?

What is the plug on the left side?

They both look quite clean as for rust removal I found electrolytic removal excellent and about the least invasive method I have found, I used it on my MG08 parts that needed a clean. Its not that hard to set up and do, essentially its just a power source ( old battery charger) plastic bucket and some caustic soda.

If you are interested in more detail I can email you or do a search online

The one on the left looks like a MG08/15 plus missing the two retaining arms. The one on the right looks like a Chinese T24 plug thats pretty much the same as the MG08 Plug.

What would be a fair asking price for these two plugs? I found a mint one and would like to pass these along to some one who needs them, but I have no idea on price?
