Lubing up the 08 before shooting
Lubing up the 08 before shooting
Before shooting my 08 Maxim could I get a little checklist of parts that need to be oiled. I have a pretty good idea of the basics but I was hoping for some tips from vetern shooters, thanks in advance.
Re: Lubing up the 08 before shooting
Libe the inside of the lock sufficiently that the firing pin is well lubed, along with the lock rails and lube the outside walls of the recoil plate/crank assembly,, the crank axle, and closure slot grooves, as the assembly moves back and forth with each shot. Feed shuttle needs light lube, along with the feedarm axle. Light lube on top of extractor cams on the inside of the sideplates.
Important to insure that the front and rear packing are not too tight to keep the action from its required recoil.
Do. Of use WD40 for lubrication purposes as it is only seocmdarilky a lube and primarily a water dispersant (WD). Use a good military lube, LSA, or any good al or synthetic lube.
Lube generously.
