New MG08 Booster assembly

Post by bbigbore »

After having NO luck finding a booster assembly for my MG08, a friend put me in contact with a guy who he said could make me one. Yes, this guy is a C2, and been working on MGs for over 30yrs. Got it today and it looks great, and fit perfect.

I think he made a few so if anyone is interested, I'll give you his contact info. I'm not sure on pricing but I think they are around $600 for all the parts shown.

Looks very nice!

$600 is a big high but he might have a few takers. I would suggest he just make Flash hider (the front part) as there are lots of boosters out there missing them for some reason!!! If he could make they for $150ish, I think they would sell!

I havent been able to find assemblies for sale, so I don't know what the going rate is? I'm ASSuming these would be priced around $600. The assemblies and the flashhiders alone will be available at Knob Creek. He'll have come up with pricing by then.

Mine works great, took the 08 out today. :)

MG08/15 boosters sell for $400. So that would seem to me to be the going rate for a repro booster. Originals are $500-$600ish. But thats just me. If you need one... its whatever someone will charge to make it!

Wow, I'm even happier with mine after seeing what this went for.

Interesting that the seller of the 08 booster/flash hider on Gunbroker goes into such fascinating detail about all the markings, the rarity and pedigree but doesn't know that it is incomplete. It's missing the piston........

Thinking about striping the one off my gun and selling it for that much! Hell sell it now, buy it for one third later. Its interesting to see the wave of parts come and go. Sometimes its hard to sell, other times it goes for two times what its worth.

I got the waterjacket out of the sale. Cost me a pretty penny but I wanted it. I also got the repro trench mount off ebay. Hell thats less that half what IMA sold them for and its one of the better repros they made.
