What would be a fair price on an original drum, in very good condition with about 95% or it's original paint?

Value on an original MG08/15 drum?

Are you buying or selling it? Any pictures?

Randall images would be great as there are many, including myself who are looking for such items.
Price would also depend upon which 'example/maker' it is AND perhaps the most significant factor being whether you are in USA, Canada or Europe!! Prices here in Europe, in the main, are considerably less, averaging at about GBP200.
Whilst we are on the subject of parts I am still confused, being in the UK, at what can and cannot be sent out of the USA in terms of accessories. It seems to differ depending upon who I talk to!!
Best wishes,
Mark

Re: Value on an original MG08/15 drum?
Hey Mark,
Good question, it seems many smaller sellers merely want to play safe and not run afoul of the ITAR regulations and/or deal with what individual countries or trade zones like the EU have restricted. Shipping into the US can be even worse with maybe a dozen states keeping state versions of the sunset so-called federal assault weapons ban, which include magazine restrictions for those made after 1994, among other things.
You are correct it really only adversely impacts collectors, as the criminals traffic whatever they want

Re: Value on an original MG08/15 drum?
Hello all -
Didn't even think about some of those questions. I was considering selling it to raise a little cash and just wanted to know what these things were selling for these days to see if worth parting with.
One teaser pic as I am too tired to post more:
I cannot find a date, but there is a "sh" stamp in one of the corners.
I hate to put stuff like this on auction, would prefer to name a fair price and deal directly.
I am located in Richmond, Virginia.

Randall I suspect you may get several offers but certainly I would offer US$300 immediately plus postage to UK. You will of course be aware there are repros on the market too so more pictures may be required, primarily of stamps/inspector marks etc which the IMA ones (I assume) do not have!!!!

Thanks for the offers, that tells me what I wanted to know - which is it really not worth me selling it as the value isn't significantly more than a repro drum.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Value on an original MG08/15 drum?
Quite a few trommels for sale in the USA on auction sites at the moment, but do not appear to be selling. I am still in the market for a drum at the 'UK' price range but what is the average price in the USA nowadays for a drum in 2012? The 100 rd belts continue to be elusive

Mark,
I have one on my list at a fair price. Market on these is about $600-$800 I would say.
