Imblitz, yet another

Even slightly defaced, this Mg08 is still a petty Fraulein, then again at age 92+ I guess she is a Frau :D

Another view of SKL. New government as far as we know have no plans to change the deactivation rules but the only comfort is UK law is still not as harsh as the Belgian, French and German deactivation. Has anyone ever seen a skeleton German maxim lock? I have seen wooden period example. Mark

Wow, Mark, thanks for the pic!

I'll hope for the best with the new government for you!

I haven't seen any cutaway locks anywhere, but like you, I've seen some pictures of (perhaps oversized?) wooden training models.

here showen a barrel cut-Model with nice regimental Markings,

Prussian Infanterie Regiment No.15, Machingun No. 6,
1. Barrel (of 3) for Gun Nr. 789

First it was a 1909 build, barrel for "S"-Cartrige,
after some fired rounds
he change to a barrel to fire "P" (Platzpatrone) Blankfire,

and then the last Step....
cut-model.....

Wow, Alpencorp, I have never ever seen a regimentally marked barrel before, that's really neat. Do you think they marked it that way because they had it cut away for training purposes, or before then?? They're all marked for the gun, of course, but that's really neat.

I've got one Platzpatronen marked barrel as well, of course that's one the seller said "It's got a good bore" ha ha ha!

That is pretty cool. Are the barrels really dated?

I will photo some more German unit stamped barrels too. The British Army marked their vickers barrels too so it is clear that probably nearly all nations units stamped their kit, as spare kit can get lost (or stolen to replace missing items) before an eqpt or stores check. Signed for ownership still remains strong today!! We call them 'geezits' as in 'give it to us'.
Attached another skeleton image - I must be in love with her as I want to photo in different posns.
As for Bobs superb collection - there is that 'grey' paint scheme! This will get Matt and I talking again about genuine colours!!
