These show in IMA site as either a welded-up display,or a parts kit.Seeing that they are fairly rare, what are the odds of doing a semi with one of these?Doesnt look like it would be something to tackle. But it does look good as a display. ---bil

They list the kits w/o receiver , but in the pic show some chopped up pieces?? Does anyone have a dummy mg13s and can see how it was put together?
Thanks

the 13 already has a floating firing pin. omega sold them 3-4 years ago in small numbers. would be an easy semi-build, i suppose.
working on it!

What's the price range on the mg-13 kits? Current suppliers besides ima?

No.... just that simple. No one seems interested in the MG13...

The MG13 has a fairly complex receiver....

Post by amafrank »

with threads at the front end for the shroud and lots of slots, lugs, bosses and blocks for attaching the rear sight, the magwell, the topcover and the lower. I had one of the IMA cut receivers years back along with one of the kits from Omega and I looked at building a semi. It could have been done without too much trouble but I ended up building the gun as a dealer sample. They are nice guns but heavy and prone to pinching fingers and parts if you are not careful. I don't know of anyone who has built dummy receivers or anything approaching a semi receiver for them. As the others noted, the supply of kits is pretty limited so there is little incentive now to do anything in that direction.

Thanks for the update.I think it is like a lot of these guns, the cost/benefit ratio is way off.Nice display guns. ---bil
