This question was just asked under the topic about Tom R and DI's builds, but I thought I would post as a topic to itself. I got my semi auto firing pins the other day and should be getting my bolt extension this coming Saturday. I will just have the recoil spring mods left to do before test firing.
So a question to everyone here is:
How many coils did you initially remove from your recoil spring?

Tom...an idea.
Before you cut more.... check and make sure your bolt is actuating the ejector spoon with it in hand. Check and make shure it can do it in the gun without the spring. Pull it rearward, and let it hit the buffer....check the bolt face for the ejct pin. eliminate this first.....once the spring is gone...it's gone.
also, I mentioned on your building 'thread' about isolating the Buffer better if it has slop. I think this should be addressed when trying to set spring length, cause if your buffer can go up or down, you could bunch up the spring when not holding, and perhaps cock smooth when on the shoulder.....or vise versa... I was scratching my head on that one for hours...then realized I needed to get that buffer in check.
Tom, you may not have this issue, since using Brp rear, your lock sleeve is virgin tight.

I left 14/15 coils plus the 2 doubled at one end and it seems to be fine, real test will be when fired
