I got my Wise Liter receiver last night. It is a thing of beauty!! I saw a sample at Knob Creek so I knew it would be a piece of carefully manufactured, precision machine work. I was not disapointed. After close examination the craftsmanship is evident, the parts are perfectly formed and fitted together precisely. I took some basic measurements rorm a reweld and it is spot on.

I am doing this built with parts I have on hand left over from other builds, so I am short a couple of parts that are coming from Dan at Angola. The cam piece fit on nicely, and the feed cover and tray fit properly. I had to hit the rear sides of the receiver with a file to get the feed cover to latch properly.

All in all this receiver is definately woth the money for a serious builder. It is a legal, approved, registered receiver that will make an easy,quality build that will be worth all the time and money you put into it.

As soon as the rest of the parts arrive I can test fit the rails, install the grip retainer bracked and check the buffer fit
I will be doing a complete new tutorial with this build, it looks like it will be a fairly easy one to complete.

it is sharp and im taking it you already black oxided yours??? LOL

and this is considered just a "rear" section?

Top pic shows the S/N and manufacture info, I assume this is a FFL item then?

The rail rivet holes appear to not have the dimples. Do you have to use washers?

Reading through that should answer some questions.

Is the receiver machined for the Wise Lite Grip? From the photos it appear to be a real nice receiver, far better than the Coldsteel. Being a "receiver" and not a "80%" should make the build go a lot quicker than the other options. But in the end what will be the price difference between building this and buying a complete Century?

I don't want to slam CS but there is no comparison between what he is making and this receiver. As far as ease of build, so far the parts I have fit perfectly and am confident the rest will too.
As far as the difference in price between a build and buying a Century one it is a difficult question to answer. As far as I know century has not yet delivered guns and I am not sure what the final price for one of these wil be.
As for the wise Kire receiver build, if you got a yugo kit they are about 300 to 350. add the receiver, 950.00 bbl busning, 125.00 and 300 to 350 for a converted bolt and grip you are looking at $1,700.00 to 1,800.00 for a finished, registered, approved, legal semi auto.

Pirate-I like the price breakdown.If anyone looks in the original FS post {link is above] ,you will see it also includes the ratchet plate and rail rivets,also the long camming piece rivet.Added value.If someone is not up to doing a 3 or 4 cut re-weld,this is definately the way to go-minimum work,and I an sure the Century guns will not come in at anywhere near this price.I am looking forward to your full report. ---bil

There are several things to consider when doing a reweld. A good 3 curt receiver is $1,000.00 or more. Piecing a receiver together from a bunch of mismatched scrap is a lot of extra work and not really the best way to go. Evern with a good 3 cut it requires a certain level of welding skill to get it right. I have done 3 of them from good 3 cuts and even with over 35 years welding experience under my belt it can be tricky to get it right.

In the end you will have spent about the same amount of money, a lot more time and will wind up with an unregisterd home build versus a registerd firearm built to an approved design. With the uncertanty of the future of gun ownership it seems to me it is better to go the Wise Lite route. As soon as I have this one up and running my rewelds will be cut up and sold.

The buffer fits perfectly, it locks up tight and square, this is exteremly importand to have the buffer straight so the recoil spring and bolt extension do not bind.

I prepped my shroud and it is a nice tight square fit to the receiver. it will be one easy weld to put it together.

hopefully I will have the rest of the parts this coming week and I will be able to start the new tutorial.

I will, I am getting some better lights this week to take better photos and will be ready to start when the rest of the stuff arrives.

Have you tried to install a WLA grip stick with this receiver?

Not yet, I have one and will use it. the slot for the grip needs to be opened up. I am at a stand still with it untill I get the grip retainer and rails from Dan. once I have those parts I will start the tutorial.

Where can I get a buffer stud latch? And rivets for the barrel door?

try Dan at angola for the latch, not sure on the rivets, try your local hardware store for some tubular rivets.

Try http://www.robertrtg.com. He has listings for all the mentioned parts. Hope this helps.

is rtg the only place to find the buffer latch stud. my apex kid didnd come with one.
