What alloy is the receiver?
I’m having a friend weld up my 4-cut receiver, who does TIG welding and fabrication as a profession. He’s asked me what alloy the receiver is made from (i.e., Mild Steel 836 or Chrome Alloy 4130, etc) and I’d like to know if anybody here can tell me.

just cheap mild steel,
see if he can get some ER90s-B3 rod its very strong and will blue or park up to match easily.
