Help looking for pics on fal conversion

Post by oprod »

Ive bought Pirates conversion and am looking for Pics on where to install the two curved flat pieces. One is for the hammer tube stop, but I would like a picture of where it goes, the other curved piece I dont know where it goes either. Im assuming they get welded in between the plates.

I wasn't aware their was a hammer stop. Please post a pic of what your talking about. He told
me there wasn't one, and that the hammer would stop on the back of the bolt.

I would also like to hear what you've improvised on.

The complete grip he sent me has the fal spring backing metal about 1/4 in the top hole that the bakelite
grip and screw insert into (the bakelite needs to be shaved at an angle ). so, if that helps on the whereabouts
of placement....I know it's not exact. sorry

Karb there is a duplicate of this piece in my kit without the hole. I dont know where that one goes. There is also a square piece of the same gage metal that could be used as a shelf...As if on HK semi lower... or could go as a block between the two halves of the newly made reciever plates... perhaps it is the hammer stop?

no that piece broke off ,with grip in hand dry firing . installed heavy gauge block and worked out a better
mounting point for the front of grip.

I will finish the photos tomorrow and post a tutorial. There is no hammer stop, I origonally was going to put one in but it serves no purpose. the hammer rests on the striker. This keeps pressure on the primer and prevents primer blow out, one of the main problems I and others encountered with the ar fcg.

Pirate, Could you please show some pics of a finished bolt carrier with the charging block and any mods that are not covered in your build pictorial. Thanks Bud,
