Feed tray

I have an 8mm feed tray that has the tap installed for .308. Could I remove that tab and use it for 8mm?

Yes,
the feed tray was originally 8mm, the only change is the tab. easy to remove. Make sure the feedway is long enough to insert a 8mm round BEFORE you proceed.!

j.bal,
Follow what "Bullwinkle" said to check first before you cut the tab out. You should be able to grind the locking tabs loose from the underside and the tab will come off easily.

I found out by putting an 8mm round on the tray and realized that it didn't fit.
