Who has kits now?

Post by Cpt_Kirks »

OK, Dan has the best kits in .308 with the best receivers and IO has 8mm Yugo kits with less usable receivers.

Who else has "1942 Sporter" kits? What condition, any receiver bits and what price?

Didn't someone have 8mm kits with no receiver at all for around $250?

(BTW, I like "Sporter" better than "Sporting Rifle". My first AK is a "MAK-90 Sporter").

The AA kit I got was real nice. matching parts german markings but chopped all to hell. I did manage to salvage it. Nice. Just my .02

Dito. My AA kit was very nice except for the butchered receiver.

MG-42/MG-34 Kits

Post by Wolfgang »

I just purchased parts kits for an MG-34 and an MG-42 from Shooters Supply. Does anybody have any experience with these? They come complete with cut receivers. I'm looking to re-weld the receivers but naturally want to keep it legal. Pardon my ignorance but what do I need to make these semi-auto? Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes you can reweld them if they come with all the pieces, but there is a lot you must to to make them legal and they must be semi-auto only.

ok sorry i did not respond sooner, in regards to the aleghny arsonal 42 kits, my gun is build from this kit, the parts I got are all ww2 waffen # matching in unissued condition with perfect bluing all german like they advertise, I do know you must watch as not all their kits come in this condition some are abused/mismatched/postwar/yugo/ mixed in etc., the reciever is trashed all torch cuts are 1/4" + wide front bearing is torched rear buffer cams and latch stud are torched, markings are torched tunion cam area is trashed, all rail rivet areas are gouged with ginder marks, trunion is gouged from girindin off the pin, so the reciever is trashed, I was only able to salvage the barrel jacket and used the rear section and torched buffer threads for a dummie here is link to my kit
http://www.panzer46.net/mg42board/viewt ... =1684#1684

here is my build although it needs new pics added

http://www.panzer46.net/mg42board/viewt ... c&&start=0

unfortunatly the additional reciever parts I got to complete it are no longer available, so you will do best to goto dan at angola armory the alegehny kits just ain't worth the $ with the trashed reciever :?

Dans last kit

Post by jittychitty »

I just sent a kit back from IO which wasn't too bad, but it was missing the front part of the receiver. The receiver door was cut off and the rivets were ground out, but the kit pieces were ok. When it showed up in its massively oversized box (duh), there was a hole in it which obviously could drop out any piece at any time. Without even opening the box, I got to check out my kit (which was beating itself to death). They sent me another end, but it just didn't match up. I spoke with Dan yesterday and had him send me the one he was holding for me instead. I'm sure the trade up will be worth it. Looks like I got the last kit of Dans. When I spoke to Dan he had 17 kits left and two days later they were all gone. Now that's scarry. I just am glad I've stocked up on parts kits the last six months, including 2 MG's. I must say that Dan is truly a great business man. No money down and his kits are sold out and he still holds it for me! If all businesses were that awesome to deal with, where would the world be today? If you read this Dan...Right on! :D

I Emailed Dan who is currently out of kits. He is making up a list of people who will be first in line I would guess. He doesn't expect any for 6 months or so.

Regards,
Heli
