Hello, FNG to the forum here...
I have followed a ton of information provided by this site on builds, but I'm having a bit of an issue on a top cover and haven't seen anything about it on here, so I thought I would ask.
I picked up a .308 conversion top cover and associated parts (seems to be MG1), but the connector link is the issue. I have a new 42 c. link and is to short for the feed paws. Does anyone have pictures of the "MG3" c. link in comparison to the MG42 c. link?
Thank for the help.
Top Cover parts issue.

Re: Top Cover parts issue.
Take both connecting levers off and compare them side by side. It looks to me like the pawls on the two covers are mounted in different locations (one more forward than the other) and that the connecting levers are the same.

Correct,
The top, top cover is a 7.62 top cover from Numrich.
The bottom top cover is a MG42 8mm
The 7.62 top cover is from here.

Here's a picture with all the bits and a line to show where everything was moved forward for the 7.62.
All my math shows that a longer connector lever was made for the MG1 - MG3 top covers.
