Slow day at work so thought that I would post few pics of some butt stock and the insides and whatever.

Note the Early style cup and then note the gap between the German cup and the yugo buffer which is on the bottom. No gap on the top showing German buffer and German cup.

Butt Stock deal that I bought from Angola Dan.

Interesting pair - left - no through bolt hole, right - one had metal re-enforced tips like they did with mg34 stocks.

And I'll finish with this pic of a fire that happened at the Knob Creek campground one year.
Yes, those are real butt stocks in the fire. Angola Dan had some that had a few problems so to the fire they went.
Don't blame me on this one.

:photos: And lots of good info here. Still hard for me to decipher between a German Wood stock and Yugo. I know the German stock has the "shark fin" shape while the yugo is more blocky. The thread pitch for the buffer is different. Do the buttons on war time stocks always have the machined rings? Some wartime stocks have Waffens stamped in the side along with HVG 43-44-45, while some do not. Some have a metal band, some have wires and some not at all! I think I may start another thread on this. Unless I missed it, I think the site could use a good Butt-stock sticky that clears all this up....with pictures!

This website no longer has stickes in their areas. I have requested that they be returned and they have not been. At this time threads such as this will just roll off in to history, where they may or may not be found.
I have more info and photos that could be added but.

I think it would be great if you could post any information you have. A true WWII wood stock is hard to come by. With all the fakes appearing on ebay and gb, it would be a huge asset for a newbie. Shall we start a new thread?

Ahhhh that's terrible. From what I've read in other threads, those stocks were junk though. So how about some pictures of and info on real WW2 wood stocks?
