Trying to figure this out......

And browsing has got me about this far.........

that Ar-15 (lower internals) are used in the MG-42 kit's Handle instead of original. (Id like some photos on this)

That copper for a welding backplate keeps slag buildup (to recievers inside) to a minimum. (Pics here would be cool)

That rivets / and the holes your putting them in are to be precise for rail stability, and inner actuation of moving internals. welding holes shut for a redrill sometimes is Ness. (anybody have a camera ?)

That a recuperator sits in the lower left of the reciever .(1919 got pics by beggin)

that no one has taken pictures of assembly/set up of the above tasks.

As complicated as the gun is (I get this from what you guys are chatting about) I know I'm barely in the shallow water.

So guys.... What other things could be said that you learned in your trials on assembly, that you feel are red flags.....that others should know in advance??????

It's a wonderful site nontheless.......... I can feel the itch to get involved.

Steve, I don't know how I could possibly help ,,other than rooting you on to Do It !! Is it a Format situation that you need to work out with the WebServer your using, or is it HOW to lay it out in a picturesqe manner with instruction? I believe LOBOS @ 1919a4 formatted that whole pictorial on HOW to Build. Maybe, maybe not... whoever did it, got the message through on how... all the other bits and pieces seem to be ironed out in the dicussion groups.

And there WERE pictures at one time or another. Not all are showing, but some are still available. Thread is over a year old, this must be the one you're talking about. It's LOADED with everything.....too bad some pictures are gone.

karb, it worked for me last month just keep refreshing the page they wiil eventualy all show takes a long time as that site moves sloooow

I think most of the folks who were doing builds never took step by step photos as they were going along...just the finished assemblies. Most likely they were treading in unfamiliar waters themselves at that time...so they never recorded progress as they werent sure if they were making any until the end product was actually successful.

Reichp--- I think I see where you coming from. This was my assumption at first, but I had to try and see if there was a secret forum vault where the layouts would be hiding (hahahaha). I guess I'll tread slowly with precaution. I'll look for a kit, and get the parts out for milling.
