m53 front rear site
got in a hand full of parts from a 53 today was wanting one piece out of the batch but the price for all was cheaper than buying that piece anywhere else. so here is the question it came with a complete rear sight and it was different than mine. mine you can flip down the sight and right behind it is a low light sight, front has same. two dots for rear one for front. this one is like mg43. both are 2000 m. was this a later production change or just for special occasion. if anyone has any ideas would like help thanks robert

What you have there is a set of night sights. I believe that the same fellow had the front part up also in another auction. Yes, they sell for more money.

go to pic and look at the front sight in the upper right. That "dot" over the top flips down showing a white sight, the night sight. Go to his other auctions and you can find the rear night sight.
Or go to brp's website and look at his night sights.

I will, some day take a pic or two and post on a website that I'm going to put a reference area on mg34 and mg42 and m53 stuff on... Just starting to build the site, still trying to remember my html. Site will be of course 42rocker.com Check it out and watch it grow as I try to build it...

One of my three M53 kits form CFS last year came with the rear night sights you describe but no front night sight. Would love to pick up a front sight to go with it, wish I saw that auction

Either call or email Brian at brp and talk with him and see if he has just a front night site and see what he has to say. Otherwise keep looking like I do. Sometimes you can spot the stuff that others don't see and get it right.
