Sarco M53 kits
Actually, it has just come to my attention that "Military Gun Supply" is offerring the same sort of deal on the Yugoslavian M53 parts sets. Here is the link:-M60_Gunner- wrote:With SARCO being the only game in town as far as kits go they could very well be arseholes, instead they are stand-up guys.
Thanks SARCO

Woah, the front of the shroud on the MGS kit looks unmolested! I should have ordered from them.
EDIT: Sorry, turns out they are not. Just got off the phone with MGS and they said the front threading and receiver parts are definately torched off and do not come with the kit, despite what the photo shows of the threaded shroud.

they're selling Yugo parts but pictured a German kit.
how do i know ?
no crest on top cover
German front AA sight
the barrel door latch is a screw not a rivet
the barrel door is missing the tab the Yugos added
"good , bad, .....I'm the man with the gun."
Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.

Here are the specs for a replacement barrel bushing sleeve. If you manufacture a working one, be sure to post pics of the results. Good luck.

" The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government . . . . When the people fear their government there is tyranny, when the government fear the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson
Since the M53 sets from SARCO, C.F.S. and MGS all are coming from the same importer you can expect to get the same thing no matter where you order from.rocco1911 wrote:Has anyone ordered a kit from MGS is there kit cut the same as the Sarco Kits? you never know :? there listing them for $200.00
Only variationis that the importer has TWO BATFE approved de-mil instructions. Mainly the difference concerns the angle of the de-mil cuts.
Hope that info saves someone a $200 "Fishing trip"!!
Yes I under stand thats what i meant there will be barrel booster pieces to be had if there cut different one could remove the old stamped portion and chuck it in a mill lathe and ream it smooth so as to slide into the Sarco cut Receiver and walla you have your booster and an extra set of parts to boot
OK, just to clarify. The importer has two BATFE approved de-mil patterns. They are not much different, mainly the angle of the cuts and a slight change of where some cuts start.rocco1911 wrote:Yes I under stand thats what i meant there will be barrel booster pieces to be had if there cut different one could remove the old stamped portion and chuck it in a mill lathe and ream it smooth so as to slide into the Sarco cut Receiver and walla you have your booster and an extra set of parts to boot
However, and I think this is key, the importer disposes of the cut off barrel bushing and the rear parts of the receiver. So, no matter what retailer you buy Yugo M53's from, those receiver parts and barrel bushing are gone.
GDMOORE, you posted this schematic, but I see a few things missing from it, such as the thread data needed, and I also I don't see a notation for the proper clearance to remove the bareel. Please see my atchaed pics of an original part I removed from a demilled kit.
I'm not trying to call you out, but this data could help somone at home that may have the capability to produce there own part. I just want everyone to be aware of this. If any one has the needed specs please post them here to help our hobby.
Also I'm guessing this schematic was measured from an original part and not the one Wiselite is building. This one seems to have more shape than the aftermarket one.
Thanks for the schematic.
ADDED: I just measured the thread count, it is 16 tpi, I dont know the pitch ot the depth.

Thanks for the detailed info on kits received. I'm a
on this board but intend to order a kit and build so this all helps. Probably call to place an order tomorrow. If money weren't too much of a problem would it be worthwhile to go for a 3 kit deal then sort through the parts to pick the best for one good gun?

Hi L.R. -- and welcome to the board. It's been entertaining and interesting to read your and your friend's posts. You guys go after it full steam ahead don't you?
I'm looking forward to reading your posts as you all start assembling your SA42s. I'm betting you will come up with some good alternate build proceedures from those already outlined here.
I didn't post the thread specification for the barrel bushing sleeve because I haven't been able to find them. I've seen requests for the specs before, but I've yet to see them posted. I'm not building my own sleeve -- bought mine from Wiselite -- so I haven't made any extraordinary efforts to find the specs. My friend had a machinist build a replacement sleeve, though, and the machinist bought the proper die to thread it. If nobody posts the specs for you soon, I will try to contact the machinist and get the specs for you.
Regarding the "divet" that you pictured, my original demil sleeve has that bevel machined into it too, and I have pictures of other originals that have it. But the replacement sleeves from Wiselite don't have the bevel. I ASSume that it may not be necessary. The Wiselite replacement sleeve is pictured from the same angle as the demilled sleeve piece that you pictured.
