Ok, they came in! I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Very buildable, yes the rust is only surface rust and I washed it right off with the grease. Very minor pitting, barely discernable. Nice blueing all around, nice clear markings, and the hand select really paid off! It also came with a minor portion of the cam piece; the ejection port is complete and not cut off at the end like some people have it. Also, there was no recouperator, which saves me the aggravation of trying to remove a chopped up one.

I got mine about 3 weeks ago and mig welded them back together. I only made one mistake. For spacing the sections correctly install your rails to the cut pieces. This will align the spacing so you can see what you have to weld. I am about 3/32 off on the rear weld. I hope it does not effect my project.

Remember the nice guy on the board that make the sheet metal extensions for the 308 belt loader. I bet he could make a two piece weld it yourself cam section to sell folks that need them

The recuperator does fit. It is tight. Are there any other issues that I need to look at?

Dagobert this is what the Yogo crest is like. you may have a German top cover. Are any of the parts inside stamped with WaA marks?

Hey guys, I'm new to this sight but not new to building guns.. This is my first MG42 build and I've already gotten started !!! I just received my IMA receiver pieces and am very pleased with them.. They are in very good condition, very buildable.. I still have the same problem as everyone else, I still need the barrel bushing and the camming piece.. I also ordered a M53 kit from CFS and it should be here any day now.. If anyone can help me with the missing pieces of the puzzle I would be very greatful..

hey guys
i just ordered the 1943 ima receiver pieces (175.00) just wanted to let others know that they are sold out of the $135.00 receivers and stacy told me that on the 1943 receivers that there were only a"couple" left. I dont know if there are anymore in the us -i'm sure there is-just dont know where.-my m53 kit from cfs does not have the crest on it-in fact the only marking that i can find is a 2 with a square around it--maybe my m53 will look a bit weird with the german date stamp-but thats alright ,just wanted to let others know about the ima receivers that are out of stock. :(

Ah yes, the ol' Bottom of barrel ...................is classic.

Sounds like the usual price jump. They started selling those things at 75.00 each, and
someone must have went apeshit (probably the guy selling them on gunbroke quite
frequently) and brought it to their attention that the price might have been too low. I think
this is the third bump in price .

I've finally got enough "iron" to put my receiver together. There is enough overlap to let me cut around most of the badly ground rivet holes.

Now comes the part where I'll need more money :)

Bad news guys...

Post by PM »

Seems that IMA has run out of MG42 rear receivers AND MG34 front and rear sections. Also they have finally run out of 1910 Maxim kits after many years. The end of an era and does not bode well on the future supply of kits...

I got the last BNZ coded receiver from IMA, at least that's what the sales ticket said. Looks ok I guess. My kit from CFS came in as well. Looks pretty good. Guess I need to see about posting a pic so I can determine if all is there.
