Kit with camming peice still there?

I have a M53 kit that still has the camming peice attached and then some. Is this a common demil? Value?

Working over at "Armory Parts Exchange" (APEX) http://www.apexgunparts.com/
I have been seeing M53 parts sets with this de-mil lately. They used to be cut further forward on the barrel shroud (IE cut at the place the "Camming Piece" would be installed)

Very nice! Is there any reason that most cuts go right through the cammins piece? Is it some new rule,or just company preferance? ---bil

The pattern any importer uses/follows to de-mil a MG is provided by BATFE. In some cases (most recently the BREN's) the BATFE actually stood watch over the workers running the torches. For the Yugoslavian M53 there are two patterns of de-mil on hand (perhaps one was for the MG42's that came in previously??)

newbie question. Is the caming piece the redish part or is it the section of receiver w/ the rec. opening? Is there any part within the receiver that is damaged during de-mil. Sorry for the dumb question, have not received my kits yet to look at first hand.

i am not sure why the part is red i have some pieces that have the red haze to them

The usual cause of a "red" colour to metal finish is the lack of proper heating during the blueing process. In the case of the Yugoslavian guns it probably happened during a re-build.
