I have scrounged 2 kits over the last few months one yugo 53 and a German 42 should I set the yugo up in MG3 specs and make the 42 strictly an 8mm? any thoughts?
Set-Up
cgassaway,
If I were you, I would do exactly as you described! I would have the MG42 set up for 8mm and the Yugo 53 set-up as an MG3 in 7.62mm. This way you shoot the gun with which ever ammo you want ot shoot that day. Since I have one gun and when I want to change calibers, I have to make sure I get the correct parts in and the out of the gun, AND make sure I don't mix the parts. I have the parts for my MG42 to go to MG1, MG2, or MG3 and I keep the parts totally segregated so I don't have problems. With dedicated guns, it is a perfect world.
