What belts and any benefits to MG3 upgrade?

I am ordering a MG2 parts kit (Pre-45 kit converted to 308). The feed tray and top cover from the kit (Dand's) wil fire 8mm WWII belts and new DMI belts (both non-disinigrating).

1) If I upgrade to an MG3 feed tray (so I can use drums) then what belts can I fire with the new IO parts (8mm, dmi, m13 disintegrating)?

2) Is there any reason to change the top cover to MG3?

3) Also any reason to change any other parts to MG3 (booster, ...)????

To go back and forth from 8mm to 308, one must have 2 of:feedtrays, topcovers, booster and barrel bearings-barrels would help too
Their are a handful of drums, and the 8mm ones are metal--a 308 bullet is loose inside, and will bind--Also note that the tray lengths are
likewise shorter on .308 (their are tab legs hanging off the left side of trays), and so an 8mm drum will not work on a 308 tray, and vice versa.

disintigrating belts are M60 links-and the swap out parts/gun are designated mg3. Here's RTG's web page showing the tray and drum mounted

I do not "think" you neeed a particular .308 top cover to run links, but it must be .308, and the pawls inside need to be specific to .308

If you go after Belts , then get 8mm WW2. It is well known by many that these work well for both calibers, but the new(post war).308 are tight for 8mm, and if you miss your lubing before loading belts, you may your bolt may not strip the round from the belt like it should, or something even worse.
