Shortrnd,
Will those 8mm MG42 barrels be WWII German?....or "Post-War" ?
I would be interested in several "excellant" condition ones...depending on when made, markings, and condition vs. prices ......let us know what you can do.
Thanks, RichardS.

Try Robert at RTG Parts.....he has them back in stock new with rivet-sets at $47.50 plus shipping. These are the earlier style where you have a left and a right side rail (for WWII style MG42s).

Be safe, RichardS.

Dan over at Angola Armory has helped me several time.....good man to deal with. His DEMILed MG42 receivers are 3-cut and come with the rails (removed), trunion (removed), and barrel-gate (still installed). Take a look at his web-page in the MG42 parts section and you can see what you would be buying...

Tom R, I believe that what you are looking for is the East German Z-64 (or maybe the GFV-64) Belt-Loading-Machine with all of the addaptors/spacers that would go into the metal carry-can. I don't believe that you would want the large drum-collator that can mount on top of this belt-loader as it is h...

That "East-German" belt loader came in a metal can that held different adaptors to lay in the area for the different belts being use. I have one of these belt loaders, and it will load 8x57mm in the MG42 type belts, 7.62x54R in Maxim metal belts, 7.62x39mm in both types of RPD Belts....and even load...

Jason,
Again.......what is the diameter of your Firing-Pin?....and the diameter of the firing-pin-hole in your "Bolt-Face? (IE: Is this a "worn-part" issue? ...where soft-primers are "flowing" iinto this area when fired).

Thanks, RichardS.

Jason, What is the diameter of the firing-pin-hole in the face of your bolt?...and the diameter of the firing-pin? (It may be that you have a worn Bolt-Head-"Face" where the firing-pin-hole is now "over-sized"......?) Next question would be: Are the primers starting to "back-out" of the primer-pocke...

A Thread on Blank-Adapting/Blank-Adaptors/and............

A lot of people frequent this Board are not only interested in the MG34 and MG42, but are reenactors who would like to use their guns for reenacting and firing Blank-Ammunition.
I have given/mailed a lot of information to "Salt6" for this purpose, and more will follow.
Be safe, RichardS.

Yes, MG42 Barrel-Bearings are removeable by removing the barrel....then lifting the Flash-Hider-Catch (just forward of the front-sight).....and sliding the barrel-bearing out of the receiver from/towards the rear of the gun. To re-install the barrel-bearing is nothing more that doing the same things...

I am still new to this board....but use to post some useful information on the old MG42 Board.......If you would like, I can gather up this information to post for you.......or gather it up as a reference and send it to you for posting. Being old "Army", not very computor literate. I have done a lot...

Myrvangs book on the MG34 and MG42 was a good start in sorting all of this out....I hope that he will expand on those subjects and others. The MG34 and MG42 use different Booster-Cups.......different in that they have different outside diameters and shape. The different bullet exit-hole of these Boo...

The Germans refer to these "booster-cups" as a "nozzle". Basically you have a cone-shapped "cup" under the screwed on Flash-Hider....these came with different size exit hole to the front of the booster-cup. Depending on what caliber/pressure/diamerter bullet the gun was set up for...it would require...
