I've handled dozens of wartime bolts and markings like this is few .I've seen them once on a camming section as well. Looks like an alchemist marking for Sulfer

Torch the staked part almost cherry red and use a big flathead to remove.Did this on a couple topcovers that wanted to replace the rivet from m53 shroud.will come right out.The flare is not that bad.

I been wondering too. Like look at this bolt under the sear catch.Like an arrow or triangle mounted on an upside down 'T'. And the M .What are theses anyone know?

looks good except the topcover. It looks shot up around the feedtray area. I hope the rest of her ain't damaged. Am I wrong? Are those bullet holes or someone creatively vent it?

As title says. looking for mg3 topcover for somone. Will pay decent.

Drill out the stake mark put penetrating oil on and lock it in a vise .put a big pipe wrench on it or a wrench with a pipe extension and it should come right out. If you have any extra stubs let me know I could use one. Hell if you want me to pull them for you pm me we can work somthing out.

I know as time went on they went downhill. 43' is the best year and later in it started to degrade shortcuts lack of stamps ect.I was curious whose were nicest.DFB and CRA had the nicest markings

During WW2 which mg42s had the best fit/ finish ? I'm not asking about which are most rare which factory produced the very nicest.

Not sure,I think most guys buy a gunners box to hold everything. That would have to be one hell of a case to have cutouts.Its a very heavy weapon I cannot imagine foam holding it and it not shifting while carrying,but a gunners chest has supports cut out and are made specifically to hold it.
