Re: MG3 Grip Stick Assembly help
Yes, its a trigger limit bar. When you pull the trigger the bar hits the top of the hole, when you let go it hits the bottom. The sear, (which shares the same spring as the trigger) will shove the trigger all the way forward in the trigger guard while failing to create the proper spring tension for ...

Re: MG3 Grip Stick Assembly help
First install the big spring with pin, then slip the trigger into the pack, Install the small "trigger limit bar" in question bevel up and to the rear in the back of the trigger. Then slip the trigger forward and install its pin. This will dis-align the limit bar to keep it from falling out. Then in...

Re: Please help me find a legit builder
We would be up for building one as long as its not completely screwed. We are a class 7 ffl 2 sot BlackbushArmory. We do a lot of ak and ar builds do saiga conversions and gunsmith work, but have built a semi auto mg that was badly demilled torched four times missing a 1/4" in some spots especially ...

Re: M53 Production numbers
Most of the early MG42s are in the ground around Stalingrad and the route back to Berlin. Same with mg34s. Anything before 1944 is less common. Iirc folke put the Sarac production at 170,000 or so. Export was very limited, probably only surreptitious events. I believe Rheinmatall numbers are compre...

Re: Mg42 wood stock ww2 german
I’m not sold on the number of wraps. I have German shaped stocks with more than six wraps. Ok maybe early yugo stocks were copies of the German shape. I doubt we will ever know. Agreed, I had a supposed yugo stock with six wraps that had the solid german button and also had been reserialized from a...

Re: Flash hider: German v. Yugo
Generally yugos have a very course knurling. Late ww2 mg42 have fatter rings usually the last ring near the end of the barrel is the fattest on late ww2 stuff. Also visually the smaller part of the cone on a yugo looks smaller around than a german but the inside of the yugo booster is larger allowin...

Re: Mg42 wood stock ww2 german
I think they were made with miters on a jig to guide them for consistency. Almost like a computorless cnc. Then finished out by handsanding. The differences come from the different factories that made them for WW2 each factory had its own unique shape.
Thats my guess.

Re: M53 Production numbers
I am curious where are we getting the 700,000 figure? According to the highest" known" serial numbers made by the four factories there were 467,665 MG42's built in WW2. I know these are just the known serial numbers and there were more built but where is the extra 200,000 coming from? WW2 production...

Re: Question about mauser 1945 receivers. ar to the dd and front shrouds rea and bpr
Well I've done a lot of looking and from what I've found I think Only Gustloff and Steyr Used the barrel gate rivet. From what see Mauser and Maget kept the screw and never used the rivet. Mauser did use long and short step front sight receivers by both grossfuss and arz but used the barrel door scr...

In picture starting from the left is mg3, ww2 steyr, yugo and yugo notice the radius leading up the backs on the 2 german ve...

Question about mauser 1945 receivers. ar to the dd and front shrouds rea and bpr
Ok, I know that in 1945 the ar code changed to dd but as far as the long step front sight vs short step and the use of barrel door rivet instead of the large screw. I have a front shroud with the long step front sight and barrel door rivet and I know the long step was only made by the arz rea code. ...
