Re: Should I restore this MG34 Lafette??
Thanks for the input. I think that was the direction I was headed. Clean it up and leave it as is. Any suggestions on what I should use on the surface rust. I do not want to sand or use anything too abrasive. I am afraid it will look worse. I have one of the reproduction range plates...I think it ca...

Should I restore this MG34 Lafette??
I recently purchased a 1939 dated MG34 Lafette. It is in really nice shape. Only bad thing is it is missing the plate that has all the range info. The leather on the pads looks great with only a few stitches gone. It does have some rust in a few places, but mostly just on the surface. It appears to ...

Re: TNW Range ready for range today
Ok...I got it out and had a problem with the shells jamming. Easy fix..they were getting hung up in the feed ramp. Brought it home and polished up the feed ramp and removed all the edges. Took it back out and my son and I put three belts through it with only a couple of misfeeds. Last belt ran perfe...

TNW Range ready for range today
I finally have everything completed and back together with my TNW receiver. I purchased the receiver from them and had them do the bolt and gripstick modifications. I am taking it to the range this morning. I will post a report and pictures when I get back. If looks, fit and finish are any indicatio...

Re: Trouble w/ Century M53
Also, make sure the rounds slip in and out of the belts easily. I had the same problems you are describing until...1. I lubed the belts 2. Lubed every bearing surface 3. Fired a few hundred rounds thought it to break it in. It runs great now. Hope it starts running better....they are a lot of fun to...

MG34 TNW mods
I have asked this a long time ago, but I am now ready to get mods done for my TNW build. Who besides TNW is doing bolt and grip mods for the TNW builds?
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: WLA M53 range report
Well I got back out to the range today. Lubed all my belts before loading them....I used Hornay One Shot case lube. I wanted to try it since it kind of dries. I loaded Romy and Yugo. Lubed all gun surfaces. Fired about 100 rounds...Romy ran with zero FF! Had 2 FF with the Yugo. Big improvedment with...

Re: WLA M53 range report
Der Alder...again thanks for the tip. Your suggestion seems like an easy fix and I will try to lube the belts. Do you lube the top cover mechanisms?

Re: MG42 Sling..
I have read most of the threads on how to make them. The guys that do their own have a lot more talent and patience than I do. I was more interested in a source for reproduction lafette straps. The ones on IMA look a lot different than the ones posted on this site. Are they Yugo post war copies?

MG42 Sling..
Is the MG42 and MG34 sling the same one? I see IMA has some repro 34 slings that look pretty good. If they are difference, where can a guy find one. I was also looking at IMA's repro Lafette straps...do they look correct or are there other sources?

Re: WLA M53 range report
Der Alder...thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same thing on the Romy ammo. I did read the belt sizing instructions in the included instructions, but if you do not have one of those machines, how do you do it? In regards to lubing belts, I made sure mine were all cleaned up and dry. How much l...

F/S completed front cam, shroud and barrel bushing
All you need is the rear part of the receiver and your on your way! This is a project piece I bought from Pirate to help support this site. I purchased it back in May of 2007 and never got the project done. As I have stated on other threads, I purchased a WLA SAM53, so I no longer need this. It cons...

Is there a picture posting tutorial (sticky)?
I cannot find anything on how to post pictures. Can anyone steer me towards a sticky or previous tutorial?
