Re: MG Ammo Can Capacity: 250 or 300?
Also, was there any specific technique for loading ammo cans? As I'm sure many of you have noticed, the rounds don't stack flat. I noticed that the Czech Solution to this for their ZB 37 ammo cans (in 8x57 JS) was to weld an angled piece of sheet metal onto the bottom. To simulate this slop in the ...

Re: 7,92mm or 7,62mm belt?
Looks like a german MG3 belt (7.62). All the german MG3 belts i have seen have a grey finish, various stamps on the connector tab. Pakistan MG3 belts have a black finish and are marked POF. The way i tell at a glance is: All of the 7.62 belts i have seen have dog leg connector tab.(like in your pict...

WTB: MG3 Top Cover pivot arm/connector bar spring
From my understanding the spring that goes on the pivot arm/connector bar for an MG3 top cover should be removed so the feed guide rail so can be moved to the other side for a semi auto build. If anybody is looking to sell the springs out of there MG3 top covers please let me know, thanks.

Ravenna Armory MG42 Barrels
Did anyone else pick up 8mm/7.62 barrels when ravenna armory was making runs of them? I saw a thread on weaponsguild where some people may have had issues with them but then again there was no real conclusive evidence. I used two of them while troubleshooting my depressor plate and seem to have gott...

Re: MG42 Troubleshooting
I'm guessing that the rub is only on one side of the brass? If so, it's from getting jammed into the barrel extension. Provided the stripper head on the bolt isn't chipped, that only leaves the possibility of the depressor plate being incorrectly bent. In the top cover there is a finger (depressor ...

Re: MG42 Rear Sights (Night Sights?)
Yugo made, post war. Common, No. Rare, No. They made Front and Rear night sights. There were pics up, but since photobucket and others did what they did, a lot of pics that were not posted on this site were lost. Thanks for the pics. I'l try to dig out a Front sight and add it's pics to this thread...

MG42 Rear Sights (Night Sights?)
Hello, I recently acquired a kit that had a dual aperture rear sight, doing some searching on this forum I found mention of night sights(but no pictures to confirm) which is the only thing that made sense for these. Anybody have any more info on these, they came with a yugo kit, I'm guessing these w...

Single Cut M53/MG42 Kit for sale
https://ibb.co/ma8Bg7 Hello, I bought this kit off gunbroker a few months ago but have decided to go a different direction with my build. This kit is complete except for a barrel as far as I can tell all other parts are there. Still covered in cosmoline, there is bits of paper stuck to some parts, ...

Re: MG42 vs M53 ROF
Considering some of the other statements in the article that don't align with reality: The MG42 was developed from the MG34? Really? I guess fast horses were developed from fast cows then. Obviously their designs are completely different (other than a recoiling barrel). If the feed system for the M...

MG42 vs M53 ROF
I was reading here today: http://9thss.com/wpnmg42.html and saw this: "The MG42 was adopted by a number of armed organizations after the war, and was copied or license-built as well. Yugoslavia license-built the MG42 as the M52, retaining the 7.92x57mm caliber. By doing so, the Yugoslavians retained...

Re: New Run Of .308 MG42/M53 Barrels
The barrel itself is only 1/3 of the headspace variable. The other two are the barrel extension, and the bolt. All three need to fit together properly to get the headspace, but the barrel and barrel extension are the two that are able to be adjusted (chamber depth, and how far the barrel is screwed...

Re: New Run Of .308 MG42/M53 Barrels
Certainly not trying to rain on your parade, but: Are you talking barrels with or without the barrel extension? If without, then they will need set up and the chamber reamed or the barrel spaced or trimmed to get proper headspace. There's a lot of work to make a fireable barrel. Getting a barrel th...

New Run Of .308 MG42/M53 Barrels
Hello, I have been working on a semi M53 build for a little while now acquiring parts and making plans, I wanted to do this build in .308 due to 8mm availability and have had a hard time tracking down reasonably priced .308 barrels. I decided to email a company for a quote for barrels and the price ...
