Re: Help with Build
So I'm not sure if this is related, but I had to trim my recuperator quite a bit for the brp gripstick to fit. I would reccomend doing it by fit check, meaning physically see where the gripstick hits the recuperator ledge (which is to the side of the tube). You should only have to take out little am...

Re: Buffer cam pieces, clean up or buy new?
Hi guys,
so I am fitting my buffer tabs now and have the same question.
Does the top buffer tab look set inside the buffer deep enough?
I don't think the bottom is.
Thanks

Re: Jigs
Hi Woody52, the only jigs I have seen is a front shroud to receiver shell welding jig on gunbroker for like $100. It really doesn't look that complicated to make though. Just get a long piece of all thread with some nuts and washers. Then just triple double check it with a level. Thats what I'll be ...

Hello Jbaum,
my mistake on my terms (still getting those down). I was referring to the recoil nozzle as my cone.
thanks,
along

Re: New mg42 Build, and where to start with it
Hello everyone , so I have a question about my front bushing I recently welded. When fitting on the flashider with cone inside it, it comes just short of lining up with the front sight holder slot. My barrel stop to front bushing measurement is 19.46875'' (19 15/32''). From the pictures I hope it is...

Re: MG 42 Build:Headspacing a New barrel?
Wow that is really good statistics for barrels working with factory bolts, I'm glad it is that good. Is there any work I can do to my bolt head, such as take off material to decrease the headspace? I certainly would like to save money (however I do have time as well). My factory barrel hasn't been m...

Re: MG 42 Build:Headspacing a New barrel?
Would there be a point in buying a pre-headspaced barrel since I don't know if it will fit my bolt?

Re: MG 42 Build:Headspacing a New barrel?
so I bought some .001'' steel shim stock. So far I have added 6 shims between the barrel extension and barrel, so only .006'' added. The go and no-go gauge are still going in. Is there a typical thickness it takes for the no-go gauge to not go in?
thank you for the help
