Re: Bolt stuck
Wups! Also, it turns out the camming piece had small hard bits of junk in one of the grooves... No idea how I didn't see that before I put it in. It's a "new" old camming piece I got relatively recently, but never gave any issues before. some of it came out as I was trying to unjam the whole thing. ...

Re: Bolt stuck
It's hard to see from the pictures, but the ejector bar seems to be in the correct position. Any ideas what went wrong? Even if it turns out I'll have to send it to someone more capable at this than me, I would like to know what not to do in the future. You have to get it out first then inspect the...

Re: Bolt stuck
Explain what you meant when you said: "The barrel bounces back so that it is in the forward position? Push the bolt carrier back in? In what? Do you mean you push it forward toward the front of the gun? Have you removed the grip?" How about a picture far enough away to see the whole bolt? Is this a...

Re: Bolt stuck
OP probably figured it out by now and is not posting the cause of the lock. Very typical for new members here, they come with a problem, we all gather to help them out and they never post again. I haven't solved the issue yet sadly. I only got back from abroad yesterday night, and like I said in th...

Re: Bolt stuck
EDIT:
I can barely get eyes on it if I look diagonally through the opening of the top cover. The firing pin holder is not visible. The square flat end of the ejector pin as well as the tip of the ejector bar against it, are.

Re: Bolt stuck
Thanks for the reply! I was away from home, PC (and MG) for a few days hence the late reply. For the sake of being careful - how far down the barrel shroud should the barrel go in relation to the barrel shroud exit? Sadly, I do not have a clear view of the firing pin holder. If it's not too much of ...

Re: Time for Change.
Despite being only a fairly recent member with only a few posts, I can say that this website has been a great source of (actual) help AND information - a gem of a website despite its niche nature. Good job.

Re: Bolt stuck
Not trying to be a technical pain in the butt, but you need to be clear about what happened and what level of movement you have now before a problem like this can be diagnosed. No worries, I appreciate the thoroughness. I showed a mate how to change the barrel, after which I dry fired the gun. Now ...

Bolt stuck
Heya
Whilst messing about my MG, the bolt got stuck in the camming piece, and it won't disengage. I've tried pushing down the muzzle many times to no avail (goes down for only a few centimeters at most). Any help would be appreciated.

Slabbed cocking handle
Bought this one off of a French vendor whilst in Belgium, is this a legit one? It's having some issues not getting past the trigger group when I try to cock it, too. https://s15.postimg.org/vc882xhnv/IMG_5595.jpg https://s15.postimg.org/91kd2ykdn/IMG_5596.jpg https://s15.postimg.org/5vzrcr1rf/IMG_55...

Re: Charging handle issues
Furthermore, does anybody know how to recognize whether or not a slab sided cocking handle is repro?

Charging handle issues
On a fair in Belgium a few days ago I picked up a slab sided charging handle. I tried installing it, but because the hook which goes behind the bolt carrier is about twice as thick as the normal charging handle's, it gets stuck near the pistol grip. Is this normal? Also, I have been having a lot of ...

Re: Introductions (or one way to increase your post count).
Hello everyone, Max is the name! Ever since I was old enough to walk, I've been dragged through the bunkers of the Atlantikwal from France to the Netherlands; same for military fairs all across Europe. My knowledge on MG42's is rather limited, but I'm working on that.
