Rheinmetall MG42/59 parts kit with Heavy 1200 g Bolt AND Heavy Buffer
I received a Rheinmetall/PB Beretta MG42/59 parts kit with Heavy 1200 g Bolt AND Heavy Buffer from RTG parts yesterday. https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/RHEINMETALL-PB-BERETTA-MG42-59-PARTS-KIT-WITH-HEAVY-BOLT-HEAVY-BUFFER-17p10316.htm Has everything but the barrel and its extension. Re: Video of M53 Failure
Was the barrel changing latch securely locked in place before firing?
Re: MG81Z
Robert, And thank you for the tip about the barrels. There's no cool high elevation slip stream available on terra firma. Luckily, I have 7 spare barrels! I picked up 2 MG 81 firing pins with springs from Charlie Logan at the SAR in Phoenix recently. Spare parts are out there but very hard to find.
Re: MG81Z
Nice walk around of your MG-81Z! I like how it was adapted onto that MG3 tripod. The original aircraft mount and sights are a rare find! That should run about 3KRPM combined. With the cost of replacement barrels I would keep the bursts short as you don't have the wind rushing past to cool as you wo...
Re: MG81Z
I remember seeing that MG81 advertised for sale years ago. A very fine piece of hardware. Do you have a copy of the original (in German) MG81 manual? I have it if you'd like it. It isn't a common enough gun to make it worth the trouble to translate it, but it still has usable information in it. Joh...
MG81Z
I acquired a fully functional MG81Z several years ago from a fella in Utah. Beautiful gun and I thought I'd post/share a walk around Youtube video here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EfvYo3yIiY&t=57s I plan to get it out to the next Big Sandy MG shoot in March 2022!

My MG81Z Youtube video and the search for feed chutes
Here's a link to my MG81Z Youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EfvYo3yIiY&t=3s I'm still looking for a pair of feed chutes!!! I've checked with Bob Landis at OOW, PJ heck, Charlie Logan in PA and put out a WTB on Sturmgewehr but no luck. If anyone has any leads on MG81Z feed chutes as pic...

Re: Crack in MG 42 Receiver and stuck cases
I was using Hot Shot Romanian Ammo - the newly manufactured stuff (not the 1970s surplus in the green spam can). b63bdf6f4501014adb5c154a47609675_1.jpg Using this ammo, I had the same problem once with a case stuck in the chamber of my full-auto MG34. I've shot a couple thousand rounds of this stuff...

Thank you guys for the replies!
Sorry for the delayed response. I was on vacation in BC, Canada with no internet.
Here's a picture of the receiver crack.

Crack in MG 42 Receiver and stuck cases
I bought a C&R full-auto MG 42 about 1 year ago that I've put about of 600 rounds of 7.62 and 8 mm through. The gun has performed flawless until my lasting outing when cases got stuck in both the 7.62 and 8 mm barrels ending the fun for the day. The stuck cases in both barrels were very difficult to...

Re: WTB Yugo Gurtfuller 34 Table Clamp
The beltloader came from SARCO sans table clamp. I called SARCO and they had none for sale. Thanks for the Ebay link to the table clamp. But $75 plus $35 for shipping seems a little bit pricey to me considering that I brought the rest of the loader for $150. So I'll keep looking. If anyone has an ex...

WTB Yugo Gurtfuller 34 Table Clamp
I bought the Yugo 8 mm beltloader from Sarco but it did not come with a table clamp. No one seems to sell them individually.
Shoot me a PM if you've got one to sell or know where I can buy one...
Thanks

Re: Advice on buying an MG 42
Jbaum,
Thank you for the prompt reply.
I do have a C&R FFL and the ammo I was thinking of using would be new (2014 or 2015) manufactured steel-cased Romanian non-corrosive stuff.
I thought 65K for an MG42 was too much as well.
Thank you for the prompt reply.

Advice on buying an MG 42
Hello everyone. My name is John, I'm new to this board and this is my first post. I've decided to buy a fully-transferable full-auto MG42 and I would appreciate any sound advice and info. The MG42 is new to me but I do have many other machine guns. I have read a lot of the posts and info on this web...
