Re: MG 42 cone muzzle break with extra fin
So what is so suspicious about the marks? It's been in a basement since early 90s. I see the reproduction soft metal stamps they have for wood, and if you are speculating these pieces are marked with that, I assure you that is not the case. Please do post the stamps from yours, I'd love something to...

Re: MG 42 cone muzzle break with extra fin
NO PM received, my email h.connors@centurylink.net.. To clarify I did not question the authenticity of the gun, it is a good looking WWII MG42, I only mentioned that it had the Postwar Austrian Army (BH) stamp on it. That means they used it like the early West German Army did as well as the German ...

Re: MG 42 cone muzzle break with extra fin
Thanks for your input guys. One of my buddies bought 20 yugo kits and one had a german marked top cover, others had mixed pieces. Seems parts may have been swapped on the field at some point before demilling. About the stamps, ive looked at these for hours and magnifying them and comparing them but ...

Will do. First I've got a few other projects on the table. (Yes, more projects than "Completes") I'll join a 12 step program after just one more

Re: Philadelphia ordinance m42 80% ever built?
Picked a Philly one up on the cheap, couldn't resist. Could make a dummy, but I'd rather not. Let the metal fly!42rocker wrote:Did you also check the brp receivers. More is posted on those than the Phil.
Good Luck

Philadelphia ordinance m42 80% ever built?
I've been reading all night but I've got to know if anyone has ever built a semi auto mg42 using a Philadelphia ordinance 80%. From what I read it is difficult, but so is rocket surgery. Anyone ever do it? Pointers?

Re: MG 42 cone muzzle break with extra fin
I would not sell off that flash hider.. It is not common.. Getting a replacement is somewhat easy. Replacing that one with an extra fin would be much much harder. Keep it for your future collection as you will find that it grows on you. Later 42rocker so what I'm hearing is get another kit that mat...

Re: MG 42 cone muzzle break with extra fin
Very interesting group of parts. Using the data off the rear receiver you can figure out which style front sight to use. Also doing worry about building it into a semi as it can be redone into a full auto with some work. The last part of this thread has lots of great info for you to check out. Enjo...

Re: MG 42 cone muzzle break with extra fin
Is it original to the rest of the gun? If so, what is the maker, date, cocking handle type etc? Tom. All great questions that I can only answer with pictures. This is the kit.I dont think it is from the 4 cut (5cut?) reciever as it looks phosphate white in the raw-ish. I couldn't sleep at night so ...
