Ahhhh that's terrible. From what I've read in other threads, those stocks were junk though. So how about some pictures of and info on real WW2 wood stocks?

I think it would be great if you could post any information you have. A true WWII wood stock is hard to come by. With all the fakes appearing on ebay and gb, it would be a huge asset for a

:photos: And lots of good info here. Still hard for me to decipher between a German Wood stock and Yugo. I know the German stock has the "shark fin" shape while the yugo is more blocky. The thread pitch for the buffer is different. Do the buttons on war time stocks always have the machined rings? So...

WTB WWII Mg42 Buttstock
Looking for preferably a 5 wire wood stock, bakelites if you got them. NO YUGOS wanted. I can also get post war bakelites through RTG and am not interested right now. I have a Light green MG3 buttstocek to offer in trade. Let me know what you've got.

RTG is something I've been meaning to go check out...about 20 min away from my house. Thanks for the offer Der Adler, but I'd like to keep this all german for now. Any idea on what the Green stock is worth?

What's the value of one of these MG3 stocks anyways? I'm sure I couldn't straight trade for a wwII wood or bakelite.

So my only current set up is a puke green (metallic pea) mg3 stock. I'm thinking these really have no collector value and would look better in black to go along with a nice german 42.Basically a wartime bakelite fakie. Considered blasphemy or go for it?

Ditto on the peen, make sure its not prohibiting the two from turning away from each other. A nice blast from an air hammer will break them free from each other...
