Re: MG42/59 Booster Cone
That topic looks like a fully dimensioned drawing to me, you could take that to anybody who's run a lathe for a few months and likely get a part that would work. Not sure what sharpening up the inner radius would do, but there's only one radius on that drawing so that narrows that one down. Those ki...

Re: MG34/41 Parts
Old topic, but found a nice safety for the 34/41 and figured I'd share. Looks like the exact same design, but the shaft is bigger. Pretty neat.

WTB: Portuguese MG34 Parts #4442
I know it’s a long shot, but figured I’d see if anybody had any of the other matching parts for this Portuguese contract kit. I have an armorers buffer to go with it but if 4442 is out there I’d be game. Never got a chance to see these kits before, they are beautiful. Truly a time capsule when compl...

Re: MGZ40 Zeroing Procedure
Interesting stuff, I've been meaning to zero my MGZ at some point as well. Folke does describe the zeroing target somewhere in his books as well, well enough that one could draw it out by hand or in a simple CAD or photo software. Keep us updated if you end up going to the range with it and if it's ...

Re: Gr vorratskasten fur MG Lafette 34
That is a beautiful spares kit, I think the first one I've seen with parts inside. Thank you very much for sharing, awesome to see that many Lafette repair parts in one place.

Partially Matching Kit
Super long shot here, but I recently received a partially matching kit (dot 1943 8891a) and was curious if anybody had any parts that matched this. I've got a matching shroud, grip an top cover, all seem to be original finish. Please let me know if you have any leads. Thanks, Brian Photo Nov 26 2022...

Yes, that's the main missing link at the moment. I was able to snag one up when they were available, but I don't see them out there very much. Have another friend looking for one too.

Re: Blank-Adapting the MG34.
After a couple of years of trying different things, I was finally able to get my SA34 running green plastics pretty reliably. I had to get a Norwegian top cover to feed them properly and use a 308 2 piece blank barrel that was made by Kriegsende MIlitaria (long since out of stock I believe). I had l...

Semi Auto MG13
Posting for a friend an MG13, semi auto conversion done by Midwest Metal Creations. Functions great both live and blank. Only thing worth mentioning is that the folding stock can be tricky to get to engage with the detent- not a big deal. Comes with 3 8mm Mauser live barrels all in fantastic conditi...

Re: Extractor issue
What style extractor is in your bolt? I've heard the old style of extractors are more prone to coming out of the bolt as you describe, but normally under the pressure of firing the MG. I've not heard of this issue with the new style extractor. Early style https://www.brpguns.com/mg34-bolt-extractor-...

Odd Barrel Profile
Good evening, Has anybody seen the end profile of an MG42 barrel like the one circled below? As you can see, it’s very different than the normal profile that I’m used to seeing. I’ve also included pictures of the markings. I’m assuming that Rheinmetall produced the barrel based on the similarities t...

MG34 Receiver, Charging Handle and Buttstock
Good morning all, I have for sale a dummy MG34 receiver with charging handle, buffer and buttstock. The receiver was welded together from original components and the rear end was dot manufactured. The charging handle and buffer were once welded to the receiver, but are now ground loose so they can b...

bvu marked MGZ 34
I just picked up this bvu marked MGZ 34 today. It came complete with sun filters as well. Very pleased and can't wait to try it on my Lafette. Interesting that Folke hasn't seen any bvu marked MGZ sights. This is from the March auction from Rock Island that ended last week. Box Front.jpg Box Top.jpg...

Boresighting the MG 34
Hello all, I was looking through my "Universal Machineguns" book and read the article describing the boresight process for the MG 34 and 42. Since the actual tools to boresight the MG 34 are terribly hard to find, is it possible to boresight the gun and MGZ using the field expedient method of drilli...

MGZ 34 Lens Filters
I was looking at a friends collection recently and saw that he had two lens filters in the case for his MGZ 34. How rare are these? I have never specifically looked for them, but don't recall seeing any for sale separately. In a search I was able to find a set at The Collector's Guild. https://www.g...
