do the new barrels from Apex generally require any headspacing work in terms of reaming or facing?

Re: WTB MG42/M53 barrel stop
Thanks, USMC. I was considering that receiver section from RTG. I have a question into them (they haven't answered yet) about whether that section had the barrel yoke. You've now answered my question. Thank you!

WTB MG42/M53 barrel stop
The u-shaped thingy that is riveted into the shroud opposite the barrel gate. I have BRP shroud stampings and need this part to finish. Maybe someone has an ate-up shroud this part could be harvested from?

Re: weld up a receiver (w/no welding experience)
I think I've figured out what I'm going to do to get ready for this adventure. I'm going to weld up several stainless steel tanks to use for parts washing, hydro dipping and parkerizing. Do something productive while getting in practice time with the welder.

Roll your own barrel
Anyone ever try to turn their own barrels on a lathe from blanks? I'm wondering if a fluted barrel would help with cooling and save on weight?

What's up with Gunbroker?
There's M53 kits for sale on Gunbroker, some missing parts even, and their price is like hundreds more than Apex. Am I missing something? And then individual parts that are priced 50-100% more than what you can get them for from Robertrtg. Are these guys preying on unsuspecting hobbyists?

Re: What is this - MG34?
Thanks gents, seems the consensus is it isn't from my '34. Probably off y chair, a light fixture or one of my kids' toys.

What is this - MG34?
Ok, so I have a new TNW MG34. I had it sitting next to me at my computer desk. I move it around and notice a small screw on the floor. Don't know if it joggled loose from the MG34 or if it is an errant part from a child's toy. So, for your viewing pleasure, can you tell me if this is off an MG34: 11...

Re: MG34 from TNW
Just got my MG34 yesterday, woo-hoo! Couple questions. Charging this thing is tough! I mean, I really have to exercise arm strength to draw the bolt back. Is this normal, and should I start working out? It's got crud coming out of the various nooks and crannies of the MG. Is this old old old cosmoli...

WTB ratchet plate MG42
Hello, as I proceed down this path of building my own '42, I have discovered I am in need of a ratchet plate. Anyone have one they can offer up? Thanks!
Oh, and I'm also looking for an MG34 bakelite stock. Nothing urgent, but if the price is right I'd take it off your hands.

Re: weld up a receiver (w/no welding experience)
As you don't have an address on your handle you may or may not use the following advice. Lot's of places up North that have gone under during this "change" and a lot of mills have come up for sale. The small HC mill that you are looking at could maybe do the job. Slow small passes and it should be ...

Re: weld up a receiver (w/no welding experience)
Hello, Been thinking about this. I may or may not try to do a re-weld on a cut receiver. Rather, I may try welding up some stamped receiver halves from BRP. In that case, I'll need to drill a lot of holes and notches and such. Would this milling machine from Harbor Freight be up to the task? http://...

Re: MG34 from TNW
I put it my order with TNW. 2-4 weeks leadtime. Figure I might try the MG42 myself, but would prefer to have experts deliver me the MG34. If for no other reason than I don't sacrifice perfectly good (and irreplaceable) original WW2 MG34 parts
