Re: Way off Subject. Tips for Pine wood derby cars

As a single father with mom completely out of the picture, I would try to over compensate at every opportunity. The pinwood derby became another occasion for me to explore my guilt and angst. The gist of this post is that the car that performed the best was the one that was simply a wedge shape, awf...

Re: plasma practice gun-art

Just found the Christmas gift for the wealthy bro-in-law that has everything. I hate the bastard but he still is my favourite. I have the plasma, just don't have the cnc, so your are going to have to sell me one. Beautiful work, so how much for one of the 16's?

Re: Flowers of sulfur

Schwefel(spelling), or sulfa, was used as a disinfectant, you couldn't use oil in a MG34 in the desert because it attracted too much sand and dust rendering the weapon unusable. It worked as a dry lubricant and was deemed usful in that purpose, in the desert any ability to attract water was not a co...

Re: I guess these are accesories

Bill, thanks for the drawings on the differentials, it has really sent the noodle scrambling. I was talking to my moto. guru and we were discussing the Dnepr/Urals and he related a recent conversation with a Romanian aquaintence about the daily work on a Dnepr. A new Ural engine/trans assy. can be h...

Re: I guess these are accesories

Just rereading the posts and I didn't realize that the Dnepr had a differental, mine were not 2 wheel drive. A close friend and I were at the local Ural dealer and the comment was that you could barely turn a Gear Up with the 2 wheel engaged. This warrants a second look at the Dnepr, or at least the...

I just used mine on a job with stainless, and then used the stick feature, It really is a lot of machine for the money. It just seems that a lot of little things are getting repaired, I wish I'd had one years ago.

Another thing, if the breaker panel is in the apartment, you could install a 240vac outlet near the panel. An electrician friend could make it look like it grew there, and just leave it when you move.

Miller Maxstar 150 is one machine, a quick search found the kit for around $1400.00 new, used would be anyones guess. I just thought, that if your in an apartment, do you have an electric range? This could be a power source for a 240volt welder.

Miller makes a 120vac welder that is similar in appearance to the HF, it works really well, but is not cheap. Probably with diligence it could be found used at reasonable prices.

I had 2 Dnepr"s in the early 80's, while the cool factor was over the top, the reliabily of the machine was wanting. Reading the Ebay description, it was apparent that they did not say what kind of ignition they had. My Dnepr''s had a linen and shellac wrapped coil that had the issues with spark, th...

I have 2 Dillon presses, all standard dies fit the 550 and 650 the Square Deal uses propietary dies. I prefer Dillon dies, because they work better for production. I recommend single stage presses to the same people that cut 6 acres of grass with a motorless push mower. I am a shooter and have 2 amm...
