Re: MG34 Issues

Well I finally have the gun back from a real gunsmith and it runs just great. The problem basically was that Stan at Project Gun screwed up the receiver reweld. It looked great from the outside but on the inside the channel that the recoupliator, not sure if that is spelled right, runs in was off ju...

Re: What is the going rate on an mg42/34 reweld?

I paid $1350 plus parts, plus all of the semi parts. He took a 3 piece 1943 MG-42 receiver, rewelded it. Replaced the cut front bushing, installed all of the SA parts, got it functioning properly, blasted it all and parked it and then painted it so it looks origional. He then built a custom shipping...

WTB MG34 Front Barrel Bushing

I have an MG34 with the standard 11.5 mm barrel bushing that has periodic ejection issues. I would like to locate a 9 or 9.5mm bushing to try in it. Please advise if you have one for sale.

MG34 Issues

Earlier this year I send Stan at Project Guns a cut MG34 receiver to rebuild. He sent it back asking me to give him a few months to finish up his last RPD run before I send the full gun for final build. I held off and sent the gun in August. Before he left on vacation this last time he left me a VM ...

Re: Looking for welding repair help

I have an 07 that is finishing up one for me that started in 4 pieces. He is a perfectionest, very good and very slow. He will not be rushed but when he is done it is right. Your job will be much harder becaues of the cuts needed to streighten the receiver back up and the builder will need a piece o...

Re: Value question on a semi MG34... tanker

It's matching and it is a tanker. If it runs right I would take no less than 5K and I would feel that is low for something you may never see again.

Nope All I could find was just a video on MG34 breakdown to major components. Nothing further. I could have sworn I had seen one somewhere.

Re: Phil Ordance 80% question

I have had builders tell me they will not touch one of the those recivers because of the tools and machining required to finish them. Too much time and money for what you get. You would be better off buying a cut origional receiver and having it rewelded.

Re: Well it is about done!

I don't know who de milled it. I bought it on GB as a kit in this condition thinking it would be an easy repair. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h372/rgus48/Weapon%20pictures/MG42/pix477568604.jpg Todd looked it over and said the welds weren't any good and that he would have to cut it back up an...

Well it is about done!

After over a year of waiting it looks like the MG-42 is about done. This is a re-weld of an original three cut receiver so other than the semi auto mods required by law it is all original. The builder has been testing it and has only had a handful of light primer strikes. He will replace the origina...

Re: The Best of the Best

Would it be possable for one of you lucky owners to take a bunch of detail photos along with complete dimentions of everything? If someone will I will host them on my photobucket account and post a link to them all here. I would love to have a transet case built if the data was available.

Tom; I think it looks as good as it did when it left the factory and I meant no offence at all. I was wondered about origional vs restored value.

Re: My Lafette 42 restoration now underway.

What I great job. I have both an MG34 and a MG42 Lafette that I would love to do but I am wondering what kind of hit, if any, are you taking on the value? Also do you need the special wrenches to disassemble them?

Re: MG42 Bolts, in ww2 any come matched?

I have seen MG34 with matching bolts in electropencil. I have seen MG42 bolts with a serial number electropenceled, it stands to reason that they also came from the factory matching.

Re: MG42 Bolts, in ww2 any come matched?

The ones I have seen were numbered that way. I don't think I have ever seen one with stamped serial numbers.
