There are several alternate methods to remove the barrel-extension from the barrel-stub......and you should have knowledge of different ways as the barrel-stubs may come a few inches sticking out.....to almost nothing to grab ahold of. In the past......I have used a Dremmel cut-off-wheel to cut slot...

This is not an ad.....but thought that some may want to view a 1st Model FG42 that is up for sale on GunBroker.......starting bid is $250,000 ......

junglewalk…….. You could try asking around in the cartridge-collectors forums...…..someone will have one of those WWII German 8x57mm Blanks to let go. I recall that a lot of Egyptian 8x57mm blanks use to be on the market. One of the units that I use to reenact WWI used them with an MG08 ….. fining t...

Lots of good information.....and then some that is guessing based on hours vs. self-labor. Realistically, if you "guestimate" the number of hours to make a "one-of" rear receiver...…..and then fit it to a "one-of" front half......you are going to come up with more than ten hours of work. The reason ...

You might try Bob owner of Ohio-Ordnance-Works. They use to make MP44 Barrels as needed.
