WTS: MG42 Display Receiver.
WTS: I have an MG42 display receiver that is excess to my needs (made by another Board member). It appears to me made up with a WWII German rear-section and a "Yugo" front section (just needs one of BRPs Front-AA-Sight-Mounts riveted on). It has a bolt-semi-only-blocking-stud already mounted, and tw...

Re: Blank-Adapting the MG34.
Correct.....when firing the shorter 7.62x51mm Blanks, they tend to raise up at the front when the bolt pushes them from the belt. To correct this, I designed a feed-tray-spacer to not only keep the blanks from raising up at the front, but to keep them in line during feeding. I gave Robb-Walters a co...

Re: Blank-Adapting the MG34.
If your MG34 2-pcs. Blank-Barrel-Assm. was made correctly........you will not need a Booster.......just the flash-hider. the way that we made these was so the front (longer-section) would be held in place by the flair at the rear of that front-section.......with the screwed-in restrictor (Allen-set-...

Re: Blank-Adapting the MG34.
Why don't you go in together and have a local machinist make two of these (?). Parts that you will need if you do this (to keep costs down in making one set) would be: 1: One shot-out or worn barrel to use for the front section .....and: 2: The Barrel-Extension so that when your machinist makes the ...

Re: Remove MG42 Barrel from Collar / Barrel Extension
There are several alternate methods to remove the barrel-extension from the barrel-stub......and you should have knowledge of different ways as the barrel-stubs may come a few inches sticking out.....to almost nothing to grab ahold of. In the past......I have used a Dremmel cut-off-wheel to cut slot...

M53FA, I'll try to bring you up to date on a lot of what is covered in the earlier 4-pages of posts on this subject...….or at least as far as I understand them...…..: Our design(s) is based mostly on a couple of ideas: 1: To make a replica as close to what the original designers in Finland did durin...

So then does this mean that an old 3-cut "Angola-Dan" receiver with a parts-kit like this would be more $$$$…...or is this just another one of those "auction" "things"....(??).

Re: blank adapting the mg42/m53/mg1-3
junglewalk…….. You could try asking around in the cartridge-collectors forums...…..someone will have one of those WWII German 8x57mm Blanks to let go. I recall that a lot of Egyptian 8x57mm blanks use to be on the market. One of the units that I use to reenact WWI used them with an MG08 ….. fining t...

Re: Please help me find a legit builder
Lots of good information.....and then some that is guessing based on hours vs. self-labor. Realistically, if you "guestimate" the number of hours to make a "one-of" rear receiver...…..and then fit it to a "one-of" front half......you are going to come up with more than ten hours of work. The reason ...

You might try Bob owner of Ohio-Ordnance-Works. They use to make MP44 Barrels as needed.
