Will a MG! feed tray work with MG3 topcover?
The question is can you use a MG! feed tray with a MG3 top cover? I will suspect that it will. The purpose of the question is to see if in the future; both types of links can be used with a Spanish belt can or maybe adapted to a link chute assault pack. Just wondering. Your thoughts. JR

As I recall both guns were post samples, early sawcut well behind camming piece-trunion-4" piece was rewelded to rear-Numerich kits maybe. Ammo was 70's 150gr Romanian. JR

Several years ago-more than 10- shot 2 different MG42's several times at the Allison Ranch MG Shoot in Texas. 100-300 meters guns shot 1'- 2' high at 100 and 3'-4' from point of aim on a MG3 mount; everything attached properly. Check head space to see if barrel threads are too shallow when bound up; and also check barrel dimensions to see if in spec. I can recommend a competent professional gunsmith here in Texas who can assist you. JR Houston Texas

It was found that the operator had to use "extra effort" to cock the bolt. When fatigued from heat "Afrika" and, or extreme cold "Ost Front".
