Hi, I would like to ask if it would fit M53 when I swap the butt stock internals?
How about the wooden grips? I always thought MG 42 had bakelite grips only.

Re: blank adapting the mg42/m53/mg1-3
OK, so I have tested this morning my MG again. I have used the 7,62x51 belt (grey colored, curved attachment link), it broke again right the first round. So it is not affected by any previous case which could be just travelling away while new one being loaded. I tested it also without the belt as ju...

Re: blank adapting the mg42/m53/mg1-3
What do you mean by "not linked"? I have to have them in belt, dont I? These broken cases appear already at the beginning, not only during the fire cycle. Last I have tested it, the first did break as pictured, then tried again and it did not even manage to push the case out of belt (stayed stuck wi...

Re: blank adapting the mg42/m53/mg1-3
My receiver meausrements are OK. I testfired with live barrel live ammo and works like charm. But those are brass one-piece casings. What could be causing occasional breaking of those plastic rounds?
Is it necessary to widen belt links, would that help?

Re: blank adapting the mg42/m53/mg1-3
Hi, I would like to ask you guys for an opinion. I have a M53 with two-parts barrel and I need to fire those grey plastic blanks. I am struggling with it for three years. Now I have a new barrel, with smooth chamber front so it is not chopping ammo on entrance. But still it does not fire, or very se...

MG 42 parts box?
Hi, this has been offered to me as some MG 42 parts box. Can someone identify it, please? What would be its value, if it is real thing? It seems to be quite small.

Re: Lafette 34/42 to restore
OK some update: I have stripped off the ugly color, smoothed it a little bit with putty and sprayed yellow.. unfortunately then I realised I took the wrong spray - Sandgelb instead of Dunkelgelb. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8901027/MG/Lafette/fotka.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8901027/MG/Lafette/PICT06...

Lafette 34/42 to restore
Hi, just got my very first lafette. It is a ground dug ex 34 lafette modified for 42. Most of it is pitted, parts that are blued are not pitted. MG fits OK. general view: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8901027/MG/Lafette/PICT0539.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8901027/MG/Lafette/PICT0540.jpg https://dl.drop...

Bump... could anyone try this, please? I guess it does not matter whether blanks or live ammo, they have the same length.

Now it is working! Thanks for all the assistance!!
Btw. the gut is full auto with modified barrel so it fires only blank .308Win ammo.

Re: M53 grip assembly
Is my spring positionet correctly ABOVE those two pins?
If yes, can I now insert somehow the sear part or is it necessary to be done in different order?

The rear of the part above safety is in my case in level with the top of the grip stock. In pictures I have found on net it shoult stick out above it. So it is wrong.

I cant move the safety, the part above prevents it in this position.
