Call him at 802 226-7204
He just rebuilt a 42 recuperator for me a month ago; I talked with him then - he is around.

Re: mg3 in Afganistan
Just got back from a year in Bagram and didn't ever see this much green in the Stan!
We had Bundeswehr, Jordanian, and Brits with us. Never saw an MG3. Did find a SG43 though.
Good to be back. Could not access website while overseas.

Re: fail to feed mg34
J,
True. but they do exist; generally modified. I get my 42 and 34 issues intertwined. I should have just asked for the ammo type.

You would need the gauges. There are a couple of companies that make/made them.

Re: Check out this 42 guy
CPT D, it is the owners that would lose on your scenario. I always get really dirty looks and a few "verbals" when I won't let someone shoot my 34 or 42 at the range. It is just not the cost of the weapon but also the liability. That gentleman that fell down could easily win a lawsuit if he was hurt...

We can all laugh, be shocked, or freak out but this just reinforces the basic firearms principle of 1.) Respecting the weapon and 2.). Ensuring proper training prior to utilization.
We can be our own worst enemies at times.

DI,
"Don't remember ever seeing a serial number stamped on any feed trays."
I have an early CRA with stamped numbered reciever, feed tray, and pitol grip.

Yugo or German should fit but there are exceptions to all manufacturers.
