Re: What happened to DARIVS ARCHITECTVS ?
Very nicely done! Is that from a kit, or all home made, or what? I'm definitely envious.

Damn, those two guys in DF (141) must have muscles and backs of steel!
Re: MG08/15
Interestingly enough, my 08/15 has misfeeds on the 170g ammunition (Romanian/Hotshot/etc.), but eats the 190+g stuff (PPU/Portuguese/etc.) like candy. The 170g is shorter in OAL than the 190+g, so that may be contributing. I'm using Vickers cloth belts.

I'm interested in the rusty bipod, depending on price. Frankly, however, I have no idea what the going rate is.

Re: TNW SA MG34 Failure to feed
I load a belt into my S/A TNW MG34 and Wiselite Mg42 as follows: - with bolt closed and topcover open, lay a belt onto the feed tray with the the first round to the left of the feed slot, i.e., the slot does not have a round above it. - close and latch the top cover. - manually cycle the action, whi...

Here's how it looked at the show-and-tell. Frankly, however, I got more questions about my inert Bouncing Betty (SMi-35).JBaum wrote:Your manual is in the mail, but I'm glad you got it together in time to use it.

Re: MG3 AA Tripod Leg Re-attachment
That procedure worked. :D To push the spring finger into proper position, I used a split end screwdriver that I had previously made to remove the slotted nuts on SG84/98 grips. Once the pin was lined up with the hole I tapped the lock assembly down into place, then secured the locking nut. Many than...

John,
yes, that makes sense. I'll give it a go. I've also ordered a copy of the AA tripod manual.
Gotta love this place.

MG3 AA Tripod Leg Re-attachment
As part of a short term project I removed one of the legs of an MG3 AA tripod. Turns out I didn't really need to do that, but now I need to put it back together and am having some difficulty with the coiled spring. The tripod locks open via spring tension on a locking assembly (don't know the proper...

Re: gurtfuller for maxim
Will this repro work with 8mm in cloth belts? I've got an 08/15 inbound that coming with a cloth belt, and a separate WW2-era pristine Vickers cloth belt (with the metal tabs). If so, count me as very interested.

Re: EOTECH mount for MG3/MG74?
I'm having some difficulty imagining the usefulness of this. Whenever I've shot a F/A MG42, every time I pull the trigger the sight picture goes all to h*ll with all the shaking. At least unless it's cranked down tight to a ground lafette.

The movie is called "Troy", and Pitt played the Greek thug Achilles. Decent movie, actually.

Re: Replacing MG34 bolt rollers
Thanks, as you (and others elsewhere) suggested I was finally able to get the replacement rollers installed by putting the C-spring on the shaft and wiggling the outer roller over it while using some needle nose pliers and an x-acto knife to compress the ends of the spring. Interestingly, neither th...

Replacing MG34 bolt rollers
The right hand rollers on my S/A MG34 bolt fell off due to a defective C-spring. The replacement rollers and springs arrived from Allegheny Arsenal today. So, what's the step-by-step process for installing the new outer roller and spring? The inner roller is not a problem. Does the C-spring go into ...

Re: IMA dummy gun barrel shroud extension removal
Bryan, Somehow I missed your post. Surely you've resolved this by now. If not.... ...I have the same IMA receiver. The pivot pin is part of the receiver casting. The retention slot in the IMA pin is cut all the way around. The button is probably hanging up on the sharp edge of the retention groove ...

Re: Finally got my MG13.
Dennis built mine several years ago, and it's been reliably chugging along ever since. You might consider stocking up on some expendables like extra firing pins and extractors while IMA still has them in stock. If you get the extra long flash hider I'll bet you'll draw lots of attention at the range.

Re: IMA dummy gun barrel shroud extension removal
Yes, the barrel jacket rotates outward when the receiver is rotated. The end of the large pin on the receiver has a depression milled into the end. Here are some pictures, first of the end of the pin on both the IMA dummy gun and a working BRP S/A XMG, and then of the dummy receiver as it rotates.
