Weren't the originals leather?
I found a sheet of dense silicone rubber, and made my own. The most difficult part for me was making the stepped/countersunk holes for the retaining screws, but having a Dremel tool was definitely helpful.

That knuckle from Long Mountain sure made mounting my 08/15 to my tripod easy.

Re: line drawing of fusee spring cover makers marking
Hmmm, I only have an 08/15 and the cover is slightly different. The file I sent was not to scale. I am assuming you will need the measure in metric - can someone give me length and height measurements in MM for the emblem?

Re: line drawing of fusee spring cover makers marking
I can send the CAD, just posted a PNG because most can't view CAD.
The question I have is whether or not it has to be to scale? I can do the scale numbers as well, need another day or so.
Shoot me your email.

Re: line drawing of fusee spring cover makers marking
I actually had some down time at the office today, so this is a first pass. CAD has been converted to lo-res PNG for public consumption:

Re: Value on an original MG08/15 drum?
Thanks for the offers, that tells me what I wanted to know - which is it really not worth me selling it as the value isn't significantly more than a repro drum.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Value on an original MG08/15 drum?
Hello all - Didn't even think about some of those questions. I was considering selling it to raise a little cash and just wanted to know what these things were selling for these days to see if worth parting with. One teaser pic as I am too tired to post more: http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f358/H...

Value on an original MG08/15 drum?
What would be a fair price on an original drum, in very good condition with about 95% or it's original paint?

Re: info needed on 08-15
Will russian maxim belts work in the mg 08-15 maxim? Thanks Jack I am a little late in responding to this, but I tried using the Russian cloth belts, and for me, the 8mm rounds were not held firmly, and some of the rounds started backing out, causing jambs and other problems. I was told to soak the...
